I gave this book as a gift to a member who was elected Secretary in our organization. She had never taken the minutes of a meeting before so I thought she could benefit from the information contained in this book. She was very happy to receive it and has done a fine job as Secretary this year. I think her performance speaks better than I could about the value of this book.

This book is proof of the old adage that good things come in small packages. The information provided for the notetaker at meetings is so useful! It includes not just tips on how to take notes, but also how to schedule meetings, keep track of who is (and is not) attending, keeping in touch with the meeting chairperson, and lots of other information that make taking minutes so much easier! I highly recommend this for anyone who gets tapped for taking minutes, scheduling meetings, setting agendas, etc.

Easy to use. When the minutes have to abide by Roberts' Rules of Order sometimes I have problems. However not that I can deal with them.

I learned good tips on writing and editing my meeting notes from this book. I used to write everything I hear in meetings but the book taught me how to organize my notes, weed out extra words and combine tidbits of information to make a coherent report. I recommend this book.

I was able to quick assimilate this information and use it in my current job. The book structure is well organized and the examples allow one to quick understand the different topics. I highly recommend this book for anyone who wants to improve meeting minutes in their organization.

This is a wonderful little book, however the content is from the UK and some of the verbiage is not relevent to the US. I have this on my desk as a reference only, but I would recommend it to others.

Tyler Cowen is Holbert C. Harris Professor of Economics at George Mason University and Director of the Mercatus Center and the James M. Buchanan Center for Political Economy. He is published widely in economics journals, including the American Economic Review and Journal of Political Economy. With Alex Tabarrok he co-writes the Marginal Revolution blog, often ranked as the #1 economics blog. He is also the author of Discover Your Inner Economist (Dutton, 2007) and numerous other books on economics.
