He has a special interest in developing tools for administrators and automation of common administration task, so he has in-depth knowledge of the Oracle WebLogic server and its hidden secrets.

Didn't find this as informative as I hoped. Rather confusing and the worked examples felt incomplete leaving more questions than answers. Also have the Oracle authored book which I haven't yet read but hope its more fluid and informative.
i really expected detailed information on the product but all i got is shallow informationthat i can easily pick from the internet. Now i am forced to get another book
This is a great book when you are new to weblogic and you need to administrator some weblogic environments (also good for developers to know the weblogic basics ). This book starts simple and talks about an administrator of a company. He talk about the steps and choices of that WebLogic Administrator needed to make. This book does not covers Fusion Middleware products configuration or HA which runs on this Weblogic env.If you already know weblogic and got some running environments then you can probably skip this book.For weblogic developers topics and advanced weblogic administration I would recommend this book Professional Oracle WebLogic Server (Wrox Programmer to Programmer)
This book is a very good grounding in Weblogic, it's short and concise, which I like. It should not be mistaken as a book for guru's; it knows its audience and fits its niche nicely, covering the basics and moving on to an intermediate/advanced level. There will be those times, and I've been there, where some weird thing is happening with your cluster. This book won't be able to help when this happens and you'll need a Weblogic consultant who, if they're smart, will probably be carrying their own copy of this book.
